The Galaxy Z Flip 4 teardown is now up on YouTube
It has been uploaded by the PBKreviews channel. The video is embedded below the article, and has a duration of around 8 minutes. If you’d like to see what lies inside the phone, this is the video for you. This video can also be quite useful if you need to repair the phone, or if someone else needs instructions to do so. All this presuming you don’t have a warranty for it, which won’t be the case for many people. Still, you may need these instructions after a couple of years, when the warranty expires. Having said that, accessing the internals of the device is a somewhat standard procedure. Heating up the device, and using the pry tool is the way you’ll get the backplates off. You’ll also need a suction cup to do it, at least to do it as easily as possible. You’ll find a bunch of Philips screws on the inside, of course, and at this point, you’ll see some of the components, and plastic plates that cover them. Samsung did change the position of some internals compared to the Galaxy Z Flip 3.
The device comes with a larger battery & camera
The Galaxy Z Flip 4 does have a bigger battery, and an additional mmWave 5G antenna. On top of that, the main camera sensor is noticeably bigger. Graphite sheets cover the motherboard on both sides to help dissipate heat. The wireless charging coil is also noticeable here, as it’s placed on top of the main battery unit, along with an NFC chip. You can check out all that, and more in the provided video below. There is a lot to see, if you’re interested in the internals of foldables. Needless to say, the Galaxy Z Fold 4 has a considerably different setup.
