The Galaxy S22 specifications are similar to those of the Galaxy S22+, but not identical
The Samsung Galaxy S22 has a similar spec sheet to the Galaxy S22+. It also looks quite similar to the Galaxy S22+, but it’s smaller, of course. Having said that, the spec sheet is similar, but not identical. The Galaxy S22 features a 6.1-inch fullHD+ (2340 x 1080) Dynamic AMOLED 2X display. This display is flat, by the way, and it supports a 10-120Hz adaptive refresh rate (it’s an LTPO panel). It is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus+. It supports 240Hz touch sampling rate in Game Mode. The phone is made out of metal and glass. Some rumors claimed its back will be made out of plastic, but that’s not the case.
It comes in two SoC variants
The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and Exynos 2200 are the SoCs Samsung opted for. In some markets, Qualcomm’s chip will be used, while in others, you’ll find the Exynos 2200 on the inside. Both are the most powerful chips from the two companies (Qualcomm and Samsung). The Galaxy S22 comes with 8GB of RAM on the inside, and in 128GB and 256GB storage options. Samsung used LPDDR5 RAM here, along with UFS 3.1 flash storage, by the way. You cannot expand its storage, so keep that in mind.
25W wired charging is supported
A 3,700mAh battery is included in the package, and it supports 25W wired charging. Wireless charging is also supported, as is reverse wireless charging. You won’t get UWB (Ultra Wideband) support here, though. The device does have stereo speakers and Dolby Atmos support. It comes with WiFi 6 (ax), Dual Band, and it supports 5G (mmWave/Sub6). An in-display fingerprint scanner is also included, an ultrasonic one. Android 12 comes pre-installed on the Galaxy S22, with Samsung’s custom UI. Samsung pre-installed One UU 4.1 here. The phone is also water and dust resistant (IP68 certification).
It has four cameras overall
There are three cameras included on the back of this phone, and one selfie camera. A 50-megapixel main camera (f/1.8 aperture, 23mm lens, 85-degree FoV, 1.0um pixel size) is backed by a 12-megapixel ultrawide camera (f/2.2 aperture, 13mm lens, 1.4um pixel size, 120-degree FoV). The third camera on the back is a 10-megapixel telephoto one (f/2.4 aperture, 1.0um pixel size, 36-degree FoV, 69mm lens, 3x optical zoom, 30x Space Zoom). A single 10-megapixel camera sits on the phone’s front side. That camera offers an f/2.2 aperture lens, with a 1.22um pixel size. Rear cameras can shoot video at up to 8K at 24 FPS / 4K 60 FPS. The front-facing camera can shoot video at up to 4K at 60 FPS. The Galaxy S22 comes in eight color options, including Phantom Black, Phantom White, Green, Pink Gold, Graphite, Sky Blue, Violet, and Cream. The last two are Samsung Shop exclusive, though. The phone measures 146 x 70.6 x 7.6mm, while it weighs 168 grams.
