One UI 4 is the latest version of Samsung UI, which the company revealed in a new promo video. Samsung devices will receive this version in the coming months. One UI 4 will have some new cool features and improvements, and one of them is letting users set a wallpaper directly from the Google Photos app. Allowing the ability to choose your favorite wallpaper from Google Photos was one of the most frequent requests by customers. However, One UI 4 is going to meet this demand. In the latest version of Samsung UI, the whole process is more straightforward, and it takes less effort.
Samsung adds direct wallpaper setting from the Google Photos app
Before this, choosing a favorite photo from Google Photos as a wallpaper on Samsung phones was a complete hassle. Users had to download the picture from the app and then go to the home screen to set the wallpaper. But now, you just need to swipe up on the image and tap “use as,” and then tap “lock and home screen.” This might seem like a small change. However, it’s a straightforward way for those who frequently change their wallpaper and have tons of images on Google Photos to find something new and fun. Moreover, some users have previously reported that they have difficulty downloading images from Google Photos. Another minor but pleasant thing added to One UI 4 is the recommended folder colors that match the Material You color palette extracted from the wallpaper. We still don’t know when the final version of One UI 4 will roll out to Samsung devices. However, if we look at the issue optimistically, some users will probably receive the new UI before the end of 2021. Also, Galaxy S21, Galaxy Z Fold 3, and Galaxy Z Flip 3 users are given priority for getting One UI 4.
