It also features an 8-way microswitch d-pad. Razer’s mecha-tactile action buttons found on the Kishi V2 are present as well. Giving those buttons a shorter actuation for quicker presses. Additionally, Razer added two custom bumpers up top. And you can remap those bumpers along with the four back triggers. The special sauce comes from Razer’s HyperTrigger technology baked into the two main triggers. In their normal mode, these triggers offer a longer, more standard pull like what you’ll find on the official DualSense. But flip a tiny toggle and you can lock the main triggers into a position that offers a quick click perfect for FPS games. Razer says that in this mode, the trigger feels like the actuation in its fastest gaming mice.
The Wolverine V2 Pro doesn’t look like your typical DualSense
Feature-wise, the Wolverine V2 Pro definitely appears to offer everything you’d want in a PS5 pro controller. Plus some added bonuses like the Razer Chroma, should you want to use it (although this does kill the battery life, pushing it down to just 10 hours from 28). Where the controller veers off course though is with the design. Where options like the SCUF Reflex FPS, the HexGaming Rival, and other similar options are basically just modded DualSense controllers, Razer’s controller is a bit heftier. The slight change in shape and repositioned left trigger are more reminiscent of an Xbox controller than one for PlayStation. And this may throw some players off if they’re not really used to the style Xbox offers. Nevertheless, the controller has all the functions you need to dominate your games. You can remap all the controls using the official Razer Controller app, which even lets you adjust the sensitivity of the thumbsticks.
